Campouts
Our family style campouts give kids a new experience outdoors away from mobile devices and TVs.Â

We have two campouts a year as a Pack, with additional, optional campouts made possible through Sam Houston Area Council programming.Â
First Time Campers
​
To make the camping experience fun and accessible for new campers and families we:

Offer flexible arrival windows

Lend gear you can borrow before purchasing your own

Select campsites with amenities including electricity and operational restrooms

Purchase and prepare all meals with adult volunteers

Offer assistance in setting up your tentÂ
Shabbat Friendly Campouts
​
Pack 806 is chartered by the Brotherhood of Congregation Beth Israel and provides a Scouting experience accessible to the Jewish community across the observance spectrum. We create a safe environment for religious identity at any level. This includes:

Kosher meals

an Eruv
-
Shabbat friendly activities
-
Campouts that begin before Shabbat and end on Sunday
Packing List and Expectations​

We will review these on a parents call prior to the campout where we can answer questions.

Volunteers​
​
Dedicated volunteers help steer a successful campout. You may have a unique skill or hobby that lends itself well to an activity you can lead. Or perhaps you feel more comfortable with food preparation. Maybe you have a flair for the dramatic and can help our Dens prepare skits for the campfire.Â

When everyone pitches in, we have more time to enjoy with the kids, or to relax ourselves.
